Bodelwyddan Castle

description

Come and visit our Victorian Castle with 260 acres of parkland, gardens, furnished rooms and family-friendly interactives. Bodelwyddan Castle dates from the 15th Century but it was remodelled in the Gothic Revival style in the 1820s. Our period rooms were restored in the 1980s to create a maginificent setting for enjoying artworks from the National Portrait Gallery, V&A and Royal Academy. We also have a changing exhibitions programme, events taking place throughout the year, hands-on galleries, activities for children, paranormal events, a free audioguide and really friendly staff.
The Park at Bodelwyddan Castle has an adventure play area (new for 2011), the remains of rare World War 1 practice trenches, open parkland ideal for picnics and games, formal gardens and a fine woodland walk with orchard, butterfly glade and bird hide.
