Oriel Mostyn Gallery in its present form opened in 1979 and is the largest independent publicly-funded gallery in Wales. Our main activity is showing Welsh and international contemporary art in a programme of temporary one-person and group exhibitions, each lasting around six weeks. Our audience is very largely a general one and we aim to provide a friendly and welcoming environment in which visitors can discover stimulating art. Consistently high standards have led to Oriel Mostyn’s acknowledgement (by the Arts Council of Wales, Wales Tourist Board and travel guides) as Wales’s leading gallery for contemporary art.

The Guardian described Oriel Mostyn as ‘one of the most adventurous contemporary art venues in the UK.
