Going Underground to meet Santa

You find Santa in the most unusual places! On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th December, the caverns of King Arthur's Labyrinth Underground Adventure will be transformed into a magical Santa's Grotto, as part of the Christmas Special Weekend at Corris Craft Centre, near Machynlleth.

Children take a unique boat-ride along the subterranean river to meet Santa in his underground Grotto. And while the children meet Santa and receive their presents, the adults can enjoy a warming glass of punch in the spectacular caverns of the Grotto. All children must be accompanied by an adult to go underground.

Back above ground, the ten Craft Centre workshops will be open for Christmas shopping with a difference – when visitors will be able to design and make their own Christmas gifts with expert advice from the Craftspeople themselves.

Visitors will be able to paint their own design on to a piece of hand thrown pottery, dip a pair of tapered candles, design and make their own Christmas cards and ‘try their hand’ at making colourful  needle-felt bags and pictures.

With a range of festive food and drink in the Craft Centre Café, Christmas music and a best dressed window competition – it all adds up to the Corris Craft Centre Christmas Special Weekend – with something for everyone to enjoy.

During the run up to Christmas, many of the Corris Craft Centre workshops are open daily and the Café will open from Wednesdays to Sundays until 23rd December.

Santa’s Underground Grotto is open form 10am to 5pm on both days of the Christmas Special Weekend.
