Kitted out, with a helmet and cap lamp, enter the darkness on this completely awe-inspiring experience.
With an experienced and really knowledgeable guide, follow the route of entry dug out by the miners way back in 1836. Discover the old machinery, miners' tools, candles even a packet of cigarettes. Hear of the tough working conditions endured by our forefathers. You'll also discover parts of the mine which were worked in its latter days and just before it closed in the early 1970's. Shocking comparisons come to light. This is a real insight into a bygone era and not to be missed.
