description
Minera Lead Mines and Country Park offer a fascinating glimpse into the industrial past of the Clywedog Valley. Situated at the head of the Valley, Minera is a great starting point for the Clywedog Trail or for accessing the beautiful countryside of Minera Mountain. Enjoy a picnic or take a walk along the old railway line and explore the Country Park, with its fine views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can explore the remains of the 19th century lead processing areas and reconstructed engine house, or try panning for lead, and at the Visitor Centre, can learn more about the geology, social and industrial history of lead mining in the area, including evidence of Roman mining.
